CORONADO, Ca. (May 28, 2026) - Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, center, returns the salute of Capt. Will Carr, commanding officer of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25), left, upon his assumption of command from Capt. Andrew Koy during a change of command ceremony May 28, 2026. During the ceremony, Carr relieved Koy as commanding officer of Somerset. The mission of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
