U.S. Navy Command Master Chief Joseph L. Johnson, command master chief of 2nd Marine Logistics Group, addresses Marines assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd MLG, at a Border Patrol Station in Naco, Ariz., May 25, 2026. Leadership from 2nd MLG visited the region to meet with personnel and recognize their efforts in support of southern border operations. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
