A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division walks a section of the 18.6-mile course during the Norwegian Foot March at PabradÄ— Training Area, Lithuania, May 26, 2026. The course consisted of eleven laps of a paved loop around the camp, with Soldiers carrying 25 pounds in their rucksacks and a four-hour-and-30-minute time standard to earn the Norges Marsjmerket. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Line with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans.
