A U.S. Army captain assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division pushes through a section of the 18.6-mile course during the Norwegian Foot March at PabradÄ— Training Area, Lithuania, May 26, 2026. The march, which requires Soldiers to carry 25 pounds in their rucksacks over the full distance within a four-hour-and-30-minute time standard, drew approximately 130 troops from the United States, Lithuania, Germany and Norway. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Line with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans.
