NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (May 15, 2026) - A survivor of the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate USS Stark (FFG 31) strikes the ship's bell while names of the fallen are read aloud during the 39th annual USS Stark memorial ceremony at Naval Station Mayport, May 15, 2026. While in the Persian Gulf, Stark was struck by two Iraqi Exocet missiles on May 17, 1987, killing 37 Sailors and wounding 21.
