BREMERTON, Wash. (May 13, 2026) – Christy Longbons, Naval Hospital Bremerton registered nurse and lactation consultant, receives the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during a ceremony held at the command, May 13, 2026. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care given by nurses and nursing clinical teams. Longbons was nominated by a patient for her compassionate care with guidance through their initial successful breastfeeding experience. As a high-reliability organization, NMRTC Bremerton utilizes the DAISY Award to highlight the integral role nursing staff play in maintaining the Navy’s medical readiness and the culture of care within the military healthcare system.
