(May 13, 2026) – Lalaine Mendoza, Naval Hospital Bremerton pediatric nurse, is presented with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during a presentation at the command, May 13, 2026. Mendoza was recognized for her clinical expertise and the specialized emotional support she provided to families at the pediatric clinic. The DAISY Award is part of a national recognition program designed to honor the “superhuman” work that nurses perform every day. At NMRTC Bremerton, pediatric nurses are vital to the mission of family readiness, ensuring that the children of active-duty service members receive high-quality, patient centered care.
