BREMERTON, Wash. (May 13, 2026) – Capt. Brandon K. Wolf, NMRTC Bremerton Quality Management department head and most senior Navy Nurse Corps officer, along with Lt. Halle Hassett, the command’s most junior Nurse Corps officer, cut the traditional cake during celebration of the Navy Nurse Corps 118th birthday, May 13, 2026. The custom of the senior and junior officers sharing the first slice symbolizes the passing of experience and knowledge from one generation of nurses to the next. The Navy Nurse Corps was officially established by Congress on May 13, 1908, and today consists of over 4,000 active duty and reserve professional nurses practicing in more than 17 specialties. NMRTC Bremerton nurses provide critical support to warfighter readiness, ensuring the health and safety of Sailors, Marines, and their families through clinical excellence and tactical medical proficiency.
