A U.S. Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, and an Australian Defence Force soldier with the 1st Combat Engineer Regiment, the Royal Australian Regiment, play rock paper scissors to break a tie during a field meet at Robertson Barracks, Darwin, Australia, March 26, 2026. In honor of the patron saint of engineers, St. Patrick, CLB-5 hosted a field meet with the ADF to strengthen the cohesion and bond between both services through shared physical challenges that enhance readiness and lethality. MRF-D is a six-month forward deployment in Australia that strengthens combined interoperability with the ADF and provides rapid crisis-response options for the joint force across the Indo-Pacific.
