U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Austin Nations, the commander of Alpha Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, gives a safety brief to Marines with MRF-D and Australian Defence Force soldiers with the 1st Combat Engineer Regiment, the Royal Australian Regiment, before a field meet at Robertson Barracks, Darwin, Australia, March 26, 2026. In honor of the patron saint of engineers, St. Patrick, CLB-5 hosted a field meet with the ADF to strengthen the cohesion and bond between both services through shared physical challenges that enhance readiness and lethality. MRF-D is a six-month forward deployment in Australia that strengthens combined interoperability with the ADF and provides rapid crisis-response options for the joint force across the Indo-Pacific.
