Marine Corps Logistics and Operations Group's flag football team, the Rusty Buffaloes, plays during the 2026 Commander's Cup Flag Football Championship, at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, California, March 30, 2026.
The flag football team was originally formed in 2023 by the late Gunnery Sgt. Robert McDonald. Though only six players from the original team formed by McDonald remain, the mission has never changed: every game is played in his honor and his impact is still felt across the team long after his passing.
