The memorial bracelet of Gunnery Sgt. Robert McDonald, who tragically passed away on May 20, 2024, is displayed by the Marine Corps Logistics and Operations Group's flag football team, known as the Rusty Buffaloes, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, California, March 30, 2026.
The flag football team was originally formed in 2023 by McDonald. Though only six players from the original team formed by McDonald remain, the mission has never changed: every game is played in his honor and his impact is still felt across the team long after his passing.
