    U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Terrence Mikell, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialist, an North Carolina native and a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialist assigned to the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, examines and prepares to sample a notional contaminated object during a training exercise at the Guardian Centers in Perry, Georgia, March 27, 2026. During the week-long training, Marines enhanced their ability to respond to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats through realistic, scenario-based exercises focused on reconnaissance, decontamination and casualty rescue.
