Combat Logistics Battalion 24 Hones Medical Readiness in Nordic Environments

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Paul Debruin, a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, writes on a tactical casualty combat care card in Værnes, Norway, April 22, 2026. Debruin wrote on the card while attending a causality evacuation class during exercise Aurora as part of Sword 26. CLB-24 practices casualty evacuation skills to ensure the highest level of medical readiness while forward deployed. U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2nd MLG are participating in Aurora as part of the larger Sword 26 series of linked multinational exercises. This participation directly supports NATO's Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative concept, validates defense plans, builds a unified lethal force, and strengthens deterrence. Debruin is a native of Iowa. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Brady Hathaway)
