Frank Axelsen, Director, NHP, during an award ceremony at NHP’s command theater on March 13, 2026. Kielhorn was recognized for assisting hundreds of employees across NHP during the federal government shutdown and ensuring an orderly furlough across pay periods. Additionally, Kielhorn dedicated over 20 hours of personal time to correct and certify 1,100 timecards across three pay periods, ensuring accurate back pay without errors, contributing to NHP’s mission by ensuring personnel were accurately compensated, maintaining workforce stability, and enabling uninterrupted support to patient care operations.
