Frank Axelsen, commanding officer of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Pensacola, pins a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal on Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Alexis Milton assigned to NMRTC Pensacola, during an awards ceremony at Naval Hospital Pensacola’s command theater, March 13, 2026. Milton demonstrated superior performance from February 2024 to March 2026, maintaining daily operations in support of 11 officers caring for 9,000 beneficiaries and contributing to a successful 2024 Joint Commission reaccreditation. She also boosted morale by leading 36 Sailors through 114 fundraising events that secured $50,000 as the 127th Hospital Corpsman Ball Public Affairs Officer, while serving as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim (SAPR) advocate providing 120 hours of crisis support and 135 hours of training to 45 Sailors, enhancing operational readiness by strengthening force morale, providing critical victim support, and ensuring a resilient, mission-capable force prepared to meet operational demands.
