U.S. Army Capt. Caleb Miller, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot with 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), briefs his team prior to an exfiltration (EXFIL) mission at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., April 4, 2026. JTF-SB, under U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), provides a variety of aerial support to U.S. Border Patrol along the southern border. USNORTHCOM is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
