GDYNIA, Poland - Dr. Doyle Hodges, Dean of Academic Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College, welcomes panelists to a discussion on shared responsibility and transatlantic relations during the 22nd Regional Alumni Symposium in Gdynia, Poland, on March 30, 2026. The panelists include, from left to right, Rear Adm. Stefanos Sarris, commander of the Hellenic Navy’s Naval Training Command; U.S. Navy Capt. Brian Schneider, commander of Task Force 67; U.K. Royal Navy Capt. John FitzPatrick, head of Operations and Commitments, Indo-Pacific, for the U.K. Ministry of Defence; and Commodore Peter Robinson, Director General of Naval Force Development for the Royal Canadian Navy. The regional alumni symposia, held approximately annually with regional partner navies, are open to all graduates of the college and reinforce the relationships built among U.S. and international military leaders during their enrollment. The event in Gdynia attracted more than 90 attendees from 19 European and North American countries, including at least 17 flag officers – navy admirals or their equivalents. Established in 1884, NWC is the oldest institution of its kind in the world. The college delivers excellence in education, research, and outreach, informing today’s decision makers, educating tomorrow’s leaders, and engaging partners and allies on all matters of naval power in order to preserve the peace, respond in crisis, and win decisively in war.
