Alan Flores, recipient of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps scholarship, is presented a ceremonial check during a scholarship presentation at Desert Mirage High School in Thermal, California, March 25, 2026. Flores was awarded a $180,000 scholarship into the NROTC program. The intent of the NROTC Scholarship Program is to educate and train highly qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the Marine Corps and Naval service.
