A U.S. Army CH-47F Chinook helicopter assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, prepares to fly along the U.S.-Mexico border in the San Diego sector, Calif., March 18, 2026. The Chinook’s heavy-lift capability allows Joint Task Force-Southern Border to assist other units by transporting concertina wire and other equipment to locations along the border.
