U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Davin Powell, South Carolina state command sergeant major and Command Sgt. Maj. Norris McCall, senior enlisted leader for the South Carolina National Guard, recognize Colombia Air Force Tech Sgt. Jason Castro, for winning the highest scoring international competitor during the 2026 Best Warrior Competition (BWC) in their respective categories, during an awards ceremony held at McCrady Training Center in Eastover, South Carolina, Mar. 6, 2026. Representatives of the armed forces of Germany and Colombia competed in the BWC. The Best Warrior Competition is a multi-day event organized in state, regional and national phases that promote excellence and resiliency in the National Guard.
