Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, (NAVFAC) Europe, Africa, Central (EURAFCENT) announces Ricardo Real, Technical Engineer (Electrical), at Public Works Department (PWD)Rota, Spain, as the 2026 4th Quarter Senior Civilian of the Quarter. Through strong performance and leadership as a Technical Engineer (Electrical), he executed over 5,400 work orders with a completion rate in the 90th percentile. Mr. Real's technical expertise was essential in reviewing the design of seven projects valued at more than $30 million and leading a new electrical switching station project worth about $10 million. By independently initiating the installation's Electric Master Plan, he saved the U.S. Navy an estimated $700,000 in contractual expenses, directly enhancing infrastructure resilience and mission readiness. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Europe, Africa, Central supports fleet commanders by providing engineering assessments and agile acquisition strategy, constructing and maintaining shore infrastructure, and maximizing force readiness to enhance warfighter capability.
