The turbine shaft from unit six at Fort Randall dam sits on the powerhouse floor, Feb. 25, 2026, in Pickstown, S.D., after being removed during an ongoing major unit rehabilitation project. The turbine shaft will be refurbished and put back alongside new stator casings and turbine runner and the refurbished rotor. The major unit rehabilitation began in August 2025 and has a contract end date of September 2032.
