Smith, the 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps, conducts a gear check in a F/A-18 D Hornet assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 323, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California Feb. 10, 2026.
