Smith, the 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps conducts a gear check before an F/A-18 Hornet flight during a visit to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California Feb. 10, 2026. During Smith’s visit, he toured Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 323, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.
