North Carolina National Guardsmen mount military vehicles with snow chains in response to Winter Cyclone Gianna in Farmville, North Carolina on Jan. 30th, 2026. The NCNG has 341 personnel and 131 military vehicles ready to assist local communities should inclement weather affect the flow of traffic and safety. The North Carolina National Guard supports its state partners, to include the Department of Emergency Management, the Department of Transportation and the State Highway Patrol with shelter operations, commodity transportation and distribution, communication support, road closure support, power generation support and cyber security protection.
