Chief Warrant Officer 3 Johnny Jenkins pilots an AH‑64E Apache helicopter during his final flight at Katterbach Army Airfield, Germany, Jan. 14. A water salute from the fire department marked the end of his final flight, a tradition used to honor aviators as they complete their last mission. Jenkins is retiring after 21 years of service, including 11 years as a 15R Apache repairer, nearly a decade as an Apache pilot, 13 years overseas, and three combat deployments with 2nd Battalion, 2-159th Aviation Regiment (Attack).
