U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Kaiden Bittinger, an electro-optical ordnance repairer with 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, prepares to load a mission master during an aerial lift rehearsal on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 12, 2026. This training iteration was the first time an unmanned ground vehicle was validated to be lifted via CH-53E Super Stallion on Okinawa, proving a new option for how to move and deploy this unmanned ground vehicle platform within the First Island Chain.
