U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Andrew Wright, center, the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, and Sgt. Maj. Nathaniel Aja, the sergeant major of 3rd Bn., 4th Marines, both assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), present a plaque to a U.S. Border Patrol agent during a transfer of authority ceremony in Chula Vista, Calif., Jan. 14, 2026. During the ceremony, Wright relinquished authority to Onischuk, both assigned to JTF-SB. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
