Travis Onischuk, the commanding officer of 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), salutes during a transfer of authority ceremony in Chula Vista, Calif., Jan. 14, 2026. During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Andrew Wright, the commanding officer of 3rd Bn., 4th Marines relinquished authority to Onischuk, both assigned to JTF-SB.
