A multinational team of trauma experts from the Trauma Hemostasis Oxygenation Research Network (THOR) delegation stand for a group photo with members of the Israel Defense Force (IDF) Medical Corps (MC) Command at the IDF MC Headquarters in Israel on April 8, 2024. The THOR group traveled to Israel to meet with the IDF Surgeon General and medical leadership to exchange lessons learned in combat casualty care and to study the IDF’s medical response during ongoing operations in Gaza.
Lt. Col. Kevin R. Ward, a U.S. Army Reserve emergency physician with the 948th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment, 807th Theater Medical Command, participated as a member of the THOR delegation based on his expertise and innovations in damage control resuscitation and medical training, sixth from the left.
