Tri-colored bumblebees sleep on the yellow, button-like flowers of the common tansy, an aromatic, herbaceous perennial (Tanacetum vulgare). This plant is invasive and was brought to the United States by European settlers due to its medicinal properties. Bumblebees, especially male drones, will seek shelter and sleep in flowers when the temperature drops. (U.S. Army photo by Brigida I. Sanchez)
