Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Kato Martinez addresses guests to his son's winter commissioning ceremony at Darrell K. Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, Dec. 21, 2025. His son, Cadet Kimo Martinez, was commissioned as a second lieutenant to the U.S. Space Force and pinned by family following the Oath of Office administered by Kato.
