Romero shadowed a 12th Maintenance Group crew chief as part of the Casual Lieutenant Program, learning tasks such as preflight checks and marshaling. The CLP requires officers awaiting flight training to assist organizations across the installation with daily operations under close supervision while gaining insight into how various agencies work together.
