Army senior leaders conduct a final inspection tour of the nearly completed interim stables facility at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on October 6, 2025. The leadership visit occurred during the final stages of construction for the 10,000-square-foot facility designed to house the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment's Caisson Detachment horses while permanent stables undergo modernization. The advanced interim facility features 26 individual stalls with specialized climate control and drainage systems engineered specifically for the 2,000-pound draft horses that conduct military funeral honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Construction began in June 2025 using innovative elevated platform design that allows complete facility removal without ground disturbance upon project completion.
