Army officials and project stakeholders participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly completed interim stables facility at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on December 10, 2025. The ceremony marks the official opening of the 10,000-square-foot facility that will house the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment's Caisson Detachment horses. The state-of-the-art interim facility features 26 individual stalls with advanced climate control and drainage systems designed specifically for the ceremonial draft horses that conduct military funeral honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Construction of the innovative elevated platform facility was completed in six months using modular construction techniques that allow for complete removal without ground disturbance upon project completion.
