U.S. Air Force members from the 9th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) and 60th CES, assigned to the 22nd Combat Air Base Squadron (CABS), conduct a simulated search and recovery operation to collect planted remains during an exercise held on Beale Air Force Base (AFB), California, Nov. 21, 2025. The exercise involved participants from both Beale AFB and Travis AFB. Hands-on search and recovery exercises reinforce the ability to support dignified remains recovery. CABS support the Air Force’s realignment towards cohesive and integrated units of action and deployable wings consisting of mission-ready Airmen needed in the most austere and contested environments.
