TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is John Shockey, 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group chief of business operations. The office of business operations completes the functions of a civil engineering and contracting squadron. Shockey leads his team to provide facility management, project management and civil engineering actions to include disaster preparedness. His team liaises with the Fort Bragg Directorate of Public Works and contractors to enhance quality of life and constant readiness to support rapid global mobility. Shockey has worked on Pope during his active-duty career and after he retired. He worked on Pope Army Airfield in the Operation Support Squadron before moving into the business operation office. In his spare time, Shockey flies with the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue, studies theology and recently joined the North Carolina Senior Games to maintain fitness.
