Engineering Aide 3rd Class Martin Metzager, assigned to Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Pearl Harbor, from Pennsylvania and Hailee Paulos, a teacher on Oahu from Nuuanu, remove invasive weeds and plants during a volunteer event with the Ko’olau Foundation. Metzager and Paulos joined military and civilian volunteers from Defense Information Systems Agency – Pacific, Defense Logistics Agency Pearl Harbor, 17th Operational Weather Squadron, 21st Dental Company, and Navy Region Hawaii in volunteering with the Ko’olau Foundation on Nov. 23 for cultural service work at Haiku Valley. These volunteer efforts, organized through Laulima Navy, reinforce cohesion, team building, and leadership for personnel and their families in Hawaii.
