U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cameron Soiett, Weather Forecaster assigned to the 17th Operational Weather Squadron, from Maine, prepares a spot for placing native plants. Soiett joined military and civilian volunteers from Defense Information Systems Agency – Pacific, Defense Logistics Agency Pearl Harbor, 17th Operational Weather Squadron, 21st Dental Company, and Navy Region Hawaii in volunteering with the Ko’olau Foundation on Nov. 23 for cultural service work at Haiku Valley. These volunteer efforts, organized through Laulima Navy, reinforce cohesion, team building, and leadership for personnel and their families in Hawaii. Community service is an important way to build and strengthen networks that sustain readiness at home and when deployed. (U.S. Navy photo by Lydia Robertson)
