U.S. Marine Corps Col. Andrew Terrell, the 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division commander assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), provides remarks during a transfer of authority ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Oct. 18, 2025. During the ceremony, U.S. Army Col. Lillian Woodington, the 89th Military Police Brigade commander, transferred authority to Terrell in support of JTF-SB. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
