U.S. Army Lt. Col. Richie Rhodes, commander of 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Brigade, receives the National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal for Distinguished Service from Dovile Sakaliene, Lithuanian Minister of National Defense, during a transfer of authority ceremony in Lithuania on Oct. 03, 2025. The medal is awarded to Lithuanian military personnel, civilians, active reserve personnel, and foreigners in recognition of distinguished service in foreign operations. The 3-69th Armored Regiment and the 1-41st Field Artillery Brigade, have completed their rotations to Eastern Europe supporting Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce 2025. Their replacements from 1-12th Cavalry Regiment and the 2-82nd Field Artillery Regiment, will continue to build war-fighting capabilities and strengthen relationships with NATO Allied partner nations.
