U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Samuel Alter, Command Sgt. Maj. of 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, receives the Medal of the National Defense System of the Republic of Lithuania from Dovile Sakaliene, the Lithuanian Minister of National Defense, during a transfer of authority ceremony in Lithuania on Oct. 03, 2025. The 3-69th Armored Regiment, alongside the 1-41st Field Artillery Brigade, has completed its rotation to Eastern Europe in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce 2025. They are now being replaced by the 1-12th Cavalry Regiment and the 2-82nd Field Artillery Regiment, who will continue to build war-fighting capabilities and advance convergence with NATO Allied partner nations.
