U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Company C, 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), conduct diagnostic circuit breaker testing at McAlpine Locks and Dam in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 1, 2025. The technical exchange, conducted in partnership with Louisville Gas and Electric, supports the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ initiative to establish a new standardized breaker testing policy. This collaboration provides Soldiers with specialized hands-on training, directly enhancing their technical proficiency for continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) power missions, as well as disaster response operations under the National Response Framework.
