A U.S. Marine Corps AH-1 Cobra from Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773 arrives on site at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, where crews from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron HMLA 772 are standing by to refuel the aircraft during an Aviation Delivered Ground Refueling exercise in conjunction with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMLA-773) on Sept. 25, 2025. Aviation-delivered ground refueling is a tactical refueling method that enables military aircraft to receive fuel from ground-based aviation assets. This method is particularly useful in austere environments where traditional refueling infrastructure may not be available.
