Senior Airman Josh Hudgins, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron loadmaster, checks the dropsonde prior to use during Hurricane Idalia. The Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters, continued to collect data during a mission today into Hurricane Idalia as it made landfall in Florida. The Hurricane Hunters gather weather data and send that information back to the National Hurricane Center to be used for improvement in updating the forecast models of storm tracks.
