U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning II assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing prepares to receive fuel from a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker operated by the Alaska Air National Guard’s 168th Wing during a combined joint maritime operation in the Bering Sea, Sept. 5, 2025. The KC-135 refueled F-35 Lightning II aircraft as they flew to the Aleutian Island chain to integrate with His Majesty’s Canadian Ship Regina. This operation demonstrated the seamless interoperability between U.S. and Canadian forces and their shared commitment to defending North America and the Arctic region.
