Jonathan Roland, commander of the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, during an awards ceremony in Estonia on Aug. 29, 2025. The NATO Kaitsel Medal, provided by the Estonian Defense League, honored the contributions and support delivered by the 5-7 Cav as the first mechanized cavalry squadron deployed to Estonia, to enhance interoperability with NATO forces and strengthen collective security operations.
