U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Earl Johnson Jr., the 104th Support Maintenance Company (SMC), D.C. National Guard, briefs Sgt. Joseph Henry, a Soldier assigned to the 104th SMC, D.C. National Guard, on tasks to complete during the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force mission around the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C., Aug. 14th, 2025. Approximately 800 National Guard service members comprise Joint Task Force-D.C., supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. These National Guard service members provide critical support, including crowd management, perimeter control, logistics, and communications, in support of law enforcement. A majority of the D.C.
