Tech Sgt. Billy Mallula, 168th Wing Dedicated Crew Chief, presents representatives from Gwichyaa Zhee with a photo of the Alaska Air National Guard KC-135 featuring the Gwichyaa Zhee tail flash during a naming ceremony hosted by the 168th Wing on July 31, 2025. Held in the KC-135 aircraft hangar, the event honored the strong ties between the unit and interior Alaska communities, with village representatives in attendance to participate in the dedication of the KC-135 tail flashes. The wing began officially naming aircraft tail flashes in 2020, with the first KC-135 named after the village of Minto. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech Sgt. Lynn Pilj)
